In Honor of Military Appreciation Month, Lendmark Financial Recognizes Military Workforce

Household credit provider celebrates veterans and veteran spouses and caretakers

ATLANTA, May 5, 2021 – Lendmark Financial Services, a leading provider of household credit and consumer loan solutions, proudly recognizes National Military Appreciation Month and continues its commitment to hiring and honoring veterans, veteran spouses and caretakers through its Veterans Integration Program (VIP). This May, Lendmark’s VIPs will receive a physical award and a personal note from Lendmark’s CEO.

“Since Lendmark’s founding in 1996, we have made it a priority to provide opportunities to veterans and their families. Our team has benefitted immensely from the unique skills and experiences of our diverse and talented military employees,” said Bobby Aiken, CEO of Lendmark Financial Services. “I’m proud to say that our company has been military-friendly from the start and focuses on shrinking the veteran’s unemployment gap and hiring the best qualified talent.”

Lendmark launched VIP in 2015 to formalize its veterans’ initiatives and programs, recognize its military workforce, and ensure that veterans and their spouses and caretakers would feel a genuine sense of belonging in its workplace. Through VIP, Lendmark blends internal processes to drive successful talent acquisition with external partnerships with military-affiliated organizations to stay abreast of best practices for military-friendly employers.

To date, the company has 115 VIPs serving in a range of positions and levels – C-suite, operational and corporate leadership –, representing six percent of the total workforce.

One of Lendmark’s VIP partners is consulting firm Arcadia Group.

“Lendmark’s dedication to hiring veteran and spouse talent and being a military-friendly company comes right from the top through the leadership of President & CEO Bobby Aiken and Chief Administrative Officer Denny Contic, Jr.,” said Michael McDermott, founder and CEO of Arcadia Group. “We are proud to be affiliated with such outstanding people who truly walk the talk and appreciate the value of our nation’s heroes.”

Lendmark’s human resources department also partners with VETLANTA, a club operated exclusively for veteran social and business networking and community service purposes. Lendmark participates in VETLANTA’s quarterly summits and partners for networking and military related updates.

“For almost 25 years, Lendmark has demonstrated through their deeds, not just words, a deliberate commitment to sourcing and hiring military veterans, as well as military spouses,” said John W. Phillips, vice president and co-founder of VETLANTA and Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army – Georgia (North). “In the words of John Quincy Adams, ‘If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.’ Lendmark Financial has certainly demonstrated they are leaders.”

In July 2020, Lendmark CEO Bobby Aiken signed a Statement of Support, a cornerstone of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, pledging to act as an advocate for employee participation in the military.
