Lendmark Financial Recognized as Best in Corporate Citizenship by U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s 23rd Annual Citizens Awards

ATLANTA, November 17, 2022 –(BUSINESS WIRE)–The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation has named Lendmark Financial Services, an Atlanta-based leading provider of household credit and consumer loan solutions, as the winner of the 23rd Annual Citizens Awards, in the category of Best Corporate Steward: Small and Middle-Market Business. Lendmark was honored for its efforts to fight childhood cancer and create a welcoming work environment for military veterans and veteran spouses and caretakers. “

At Lendmark we believe that it’s our responsibility to help our communities beyond our brick-and-mortar branches, which is why we have chosen to address two preexisting issues in today’s society,” said Bobby Aiken, president and CEO of Lendmark Financial Services. “Childhood cancer research needs more awareness and funding, and military veterans and their spouses and caretakers deserve help finding and transitioning into long-lasting civilian careers that fit their skillsets and obligation to sometimes relocate. So far, our corporate responsibility initiatives have gone a long way to address both of these crucial causes.”

For 23 years, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Citizens Awards have showcased how businesses lead in solving the world’s biggest challenges and leverage their resources, expertise and talent to make a positive impact. Companies and chambers of commerce from around the globe compete for the Citizens Awards, making it one of the most prestigious honors in corporate citizenship.

From developing a STEM program to support the future aerospace workforce, to reducing waste and emissions across the supply chain, to delivering clean drinking water to first respondents during times of crisis, to supporting childhood cancer research and veterans hiring, this year’s winners demonstrate how businesses strengthen communities and create opportunity for all.

“Lendmark is making a tremendous impact within the communities it serves,” said Marc DeCourcey, senior vice president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. “Its efforts to support pediatric cancer research and veterans initiatives are admirable, and we’re proud to place a spotlight on their deserving work.”

Lendmark launched Climb to Cure (C2C), the company’s signature cause-related initiative, in 2016, partnering with Atlanta-based nonprofit CURE Childhood Cancer to raise funds and awareness for pediatric cancer research. Lendmark is being honored by
the Citizens Awards for its 2019-2021 C2C campaigns, which brought the company’s fundraising total for CURE to $3.5 million.

Lendmark is also being honored by the Citizens Awards for its Veterans Integration Program (VIP), which was launched in 2015 to formalize the company’s veterans initiatives and programs, recognize its military workforce, and ensure that veterans and their spouses and caretakers feel that they belong in the workplace. Through VIP, Lendmark blends internal processes to drive successful talent acquisition and employee engagement.

The U.S. Chamber Foundation announced the winners of this year’s Citizens Awards on Nov. 16, 2022, at the Corporate Citizenship Conference: Business Solves. Learn more about the awards program here.
